I would like to take the opportunity that we are in the depths of summer and that many of us are in holidays to make something different for the August post. I feel like doing something funnier, or “friki” if you prefer so.
Del baúl de los recuerdos he recuperado algunos ejemplares de la revista infantil Pumby , en especial el extra de verano Nº 921, con el sensacional Sanchiz y su personaje Pumby en portada.
I have recovered some examples from the children’s magazine out of the memory chest, specially the extra summer issue Nº 921, with the sensational Sanchiz and its character in the cover, Pumby.
En estos días estivales se está reponiendo la serie “Perdidos” y no he podido evitar realizar comparaciones entre la aventura de Pumby en el extra de verano y la serie televisiva.
In these summer days, they are repeating the series “Lost” and I could not avoid to make comparisons between the adventure from Pumby in the extra summer issue and the TV series.

Hola de nuevo. En este post quiero invitaros a la lectura de “1840. La rosa secreta”, un webcomic de aventura y misterio ambientado en le Londres Victoriano de los años 40, realizado en colaboración con la escritora Mariko y del cual me encargo del apartado grafico.
Es muy estimulante el poder desarrollar nuevas técnicas de pintura y de lenguaje grafico, para recrear los ambientes y situaciones de la historia, así como el de investigar en las posibilidades de las nuevas tecnologías de expresión y medios de comunicación.
Espero el poder ir desarrollando nuevos recursos gráficos con este proyecto e ir superándome con él.

In this post I would like to invite you to the reading of “1840, the secret rose”. This is a webcomic full of adventure and mistery set in the Victorian London from the 40’. The graphic part of “The secret rose” was performed by me and the script writing in collaboration with the writer Mariko.
It is very stimulant to develop new painting techniques and to work with a new graphic language to recreate the different atmospheres and situations of the victorian ages. Also this work will let us investigate new possibilities of the new expression technologies and the new media.
I hope to go on developing new graphic resources during this proyect and improving it.
Continuando con Novolizer os presento la última parte de este encargo, el comic de las aventuras de Novoboy, con Guion del autor Stygryt.
Aquí tenéis el story -board original del comic. Podréis apreciar diferencias con las páginas definitivas, tanto en los diálogos, como en ciertas secuencias. A petición del cliente, se redujo la persecución, en beneficio de explicar más extensamente la enfermedad asmática que padecía nuestro protagonista y como el medicamento actuaba para aliviar los síntomas en caso de una crisis grave. No debemos olvidar que este comic tenía una función primordialmente comercial.
Trate en todo momento de crear espectacularidad en las páginas, para que los niños disfrutaran leyendo la aventura de Novoboy, como si fuera una película o un videojuego.

Continuing with Novolizer, here you can see the last part of this job, the comic of the adventures of Novoboy, with the script by Stygryt.
Here is the original story-board for the comic. You can see the differences between the final versions of the pages, both in the dialogues and certain sequences. Following the client’s wishes, the chase was shortened, in order to give more space to the explanation of the asthmatic condition which our character suffered from as well as the drugs that alleviated the symptoms when a severe attack occurred. We mustn’t forget that this comic had a primarily commercial function.
I tried at every turn to create a spectacle on the pages, so that children would enjoy reading Novoboy’s adventure, just as they would by watching a film or playing a videogame.
